THE CAST... 
 

Victoria Baecker (BETH), originally from Greenwich, CT, is a Box Office & Member Services manager at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, NY. She has a BA in Theatre from Russell Sage College and has performed numerous roles in past performances. She is currently pursuing her MBA degree from Sage College of Albany.

Stephanie Burns (SANDY) is a teacher and has appeared in several community theater productions, including Annie, The Music Man, The Jungle Book, Heidi, and a theatrical adaptation of Shirley Jackson's short story, "The Lottery." She currently resides in Glenmont with her fiance, Patrick, and their daughter, Kiera.

Dayna Zabranskey Carbo (LISA), originally from Buffalo, is a doula and is currently a human biology major at SUNY Albany. She is the mother of one son and hopes to one day catch babies.

Katie Cartwright (JANET) is a California native who, with her husband, runs the Bacon Hill Inn in Schuylerville, NY. She is also a doula, a licensed massage therapist and a certified yoga instructor. Katie has a 5-year-old daughter who was born at home.

Marisa Echevarria (VANESSA), originally from Staten Island, works full time for an air charter company in Albany. She is married with two daughters (7 and 1) and a stepson (16). Inspired to help educate women because both of her births involved medically unnecessary interventions, she is currently in the process of becoming certified as a Birth Doula with DONA International.

Betsy Mercogliano (ALTERNATE/BIRTHING COACH) is the director of the Family Life Center in Albany, a doula, and a cofounder of BirthNet. She has been working with families for over 25 years.

Jessica Astrea RavenStar (NATALIE) is mom to two beautiful daughters. A massage therapist, shamanic practioner, and doula, Jessica is also back in school to become a Waldorf Teacher.

Nancy Rothman (AEA,SAG,AFTRA) (JILLIAN) has performed in NYC, regionally and internationally on stage, film, television and radio. Local credits include "900 Dreams" at the Berkshire Fringe Festival, "Three Viewings" at Barrington Stage Company, "Black and Blue All Over" at the Actors' Ensemble Summer Theatre Festival, and multiple seasons of the Hudson Air Radio Theater series (including a premiere production of her short play "To Go"), She tours nationally as George Sand in Lincoln Mayorga's "Chopin and Candlelight," has co-written two children's books, and teaches theatre games and improvisation to all age groups.

Courtney Troeger (AMANDA) is currently working as a curatorial and administrative intern for the Albany Institute of History and Art. Courtney has performed with the RPI Players, the RPI Young Actors Guild, and the APHS Off-Broadway Players. She is the proud mother/step-mother of two and her 16 month old son, Caeden, was a water-birth at St. Peter's Hospital.

Alyssa Colton (CO-DIRECTOR/COORDINATOR) is Lecturer in English at the University at Albany, SUNY and is also a freelance writer. Her essay, "The Language of Birth," appeared in Mothering (Sept/Oct 2006). She lives in Albany with her husband and two daughters.

Sarah Eiley Cowherd (CO-DIRECTOR) has a BA in Creative Arts in Therapy from Russell Sage College and is a doula. She will just have had her first baby by the day of the performance (we hope!).
